Natural Beige Pashmina Shawl with Sozni Pink Multicolour Paisley Border

Natural beige, with a border in pink and many other colours. A broad Sozni band crosses each end of this shawl, stitched by hand with large paisleys in rose pink and coral, their centres filled with stripes of blue, gold and green and their edges trailing small flowers. A narrower border in the same colours runs along the sides.

Against undyed cloth the embroidery looks bright and fine, like enamel. The shawl is handwoven from pure Pashmina, the fine cashmere of Kashmir: feather-light, soft and gently warming. A richly worked piece for weddings and celebrations, months in the making.
