Collection: Kani Pashmina Shawls

Loom-woven pashmina shawls where colour is built into the cloth, not stitched on top.

Kani is Kashmir's oldest and slowest shawl craft. The weaver follows a coded pattern called a talim and carries each colour on its own small wooden bobbin, the kani, interlocking the threads by hand. A complex design can advance barely an inch a day, so a single shawl may spend many months on the loom. The pattern reads on both faces of the cloth, which is how you recognise true Kani work.

Every piece here is pure Kashmiri pashmina, bought directly from the weavers' workshops in Srinagar by our Kashmiri family business, and comes with our Certificate of Authenticity. Each one exists once. Kani shawls are sold by enquiry, so message us on WhatsApp from any piece and we will answer personally.
